Fr. Steve with Fr. Ed.
With Fr. Steve’s election to the General Council, Fr. Ed — vice-provincial — will serve as interim Provincial Superior until the US Province election assembly in August.

At the end of May 2015 Fr. Steve, Provincial of the Congregation of the Priests of the Sacred Heart and past Director at St. Joseph’s Indian School, was elected to our General Council in Rome! This election means Fr. Steve will be part of the group leading the Congregation of the Priests of the Sacred Heart for the next six years.

Fr. Heiner Wilmer, SCJ, the German Provincial and headmaster of Gymnasium Leoninum, St. Joseph’s sister school in Handrup Germany, was elected as the new Superior General. Fr. Steve, along with the Provincials from Poland, the Congo/Cameroon and Venezuela, were elected to be members of the Council.

In late August the US Province, located in Hales Corners, Wisconsin, will have an election for a new Provincial and Council.

Please keep Father Steve in your prayers as he makes his transition to living in Rome to work with the other Council members in service to the SCJ Congregation.
