St. Joseph’s older Lakota students help younger ones build their reading skills during Read Across America Day.

St. Joseph’s Indian School students will join children across the nation in celebrating Dr. Seuss’ birthday during this year’s Read Across America Day! To make the day extra fun, the Lakota boys and girls wear their pajamas to school!

Near the end of the school day, students find a cozy spot in the hallway to share reading time. Older students partner with younger students, sharing a story and helping the little ones work on their reading skills.

Read Across America Day is a nationwide reading celebration that takes place annually on March 2 — Dr. Seuss’s birthday. Across the country, thousands of schools, libraries and community centers participate by bringing together kids, teens, and books!
