Four Directions prayer service on Native American Day.
Students in all grades participated in a prayer service in front of the school.

For Native American Day, a group of drummers and dancers from St. Joseph’s traveled north to Ft. Thompson, South Dakota to participate in the Bishop's Mass and an afternoon powwow.

On St. Joseph’s campus, our students participated in a Four Directions prayer service and classroom activities, including traditional Lakota games.

At St. Joseph’s Indian School, we are proud to help our students celebrate and learn more about their Lakota (Sioux) heritage.

Thanks to the support of generous friends like you, we are able to:

  • provide a Native American Studies class as part of our regular curriculum,
  • hold our annual wacipi - powwow,
  • and share in Native American Day events around the state.

Pilamaya - thank you - for your generosity!
