Fierce winter weather conditions at St. Joseph's Indian School plagued our area throughout December and early January.

Although the temperatures here in Chamberlain, South Dakota have been cold and frigid, the moods of our Native American children in need have not been.

Just when we think the sun will peak out from under the clouds, another blizzard whirls in, temperatures drop below zero degrees or the ferocious wind starts blowing again!

Our Lakota (Sioux) children managed to make the most of our South Dakota weathers, but bitter winter conditions have limited their outdoor play.

Last week, the students got outside for a little bit to enjoy the snow. Here are some pictures of our Native American children embracing the South Dakota winter conditions.
