Each spring, St. Joseph’s is blessed to have a generous donor sponsor a trip to Washington DC, allowing a few of our students to experience the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian.

This year, Alex, Trey and Gabriel made the trip with chaperones Luke and Odis.

To be selected for the trip, students must complete an application and receive recommendations from their houseparents and teachers.

Students must be good role models for younger students and show respect to others. Getting good grades and showing generosity to others are also important.

After the application and recommendations are received, Fr. Steve gives final approval for the students selected. “We had a great time!” the boys agreed.

“There’s so much to see there,” said Gabe. “The White House was really cool, but so were the museums. We had a really great tour of the Capitol building, so that was fun too.

I would love to go again someday.” In addition to the American Indian Museum, they visited the Navy Museum, Air & Space Museum and, of course, the monuments on the mall.
