St. Joseph’s offices will be closed Friday, June 15 in observation of the Feast of the Sacred Heart. This holy day in the liturgical calendar of the Roman Catholic Church falls 19 days after Pentecost.

St. Joseph’s Indian School was founded by the Congregation of the Priests of the Sacred Heart (SCJs), in 1927 and is affiliated with the Catholic Church. Though St. Joseph’s is a Catholic organization, students are not required to be Catholic to attend.

The Priests of the Sacred Heart (SCJs) offer this special day as a holiday for St. Joseph’s employees who work year-round, including St. Joseph’s facilities crew and development office.

Our Lakota (Sioux) youth had so much fun making this cross with their hands.
