October 8 was Native American Day!
While most of the nation celebrates Columbus Day in early October, South Dakota has celebrated Native American Day since 1990. At St. Joseph’s Indian School, the day began with a Four Directions prayer and teachers incorporated extra cultural activities into their lesson plans.
Thanks to generous friends like you, the Lakota (Sioux) boys and girls learn about their Lakota (Sioux) culture at St. Joseph’s Indian School every day - not just on Native American Day. Wopila tanka - many thanks - for your generosity! |
